I’m am the creator of Check Your Mood Fitness

Here is a little about me and how I got here…

Just as Covid hit – I was in a very difficult place in life – my marriage was on the cusp of defeat. The main reason being, I was suffering from extreme depression and anxiety – our marriage had been pushed to the edge and it felt like there was nowhere to go. We decided 6 weeks into lockdown 1 we were going to put our house on the market. The feeling of moving – a new start – a new chapter seemed to help instantly. I had lost my dearest brother suddenly – and that really was the end of me as I knew myself.  

My parents divorced after 45 years of marriage and this came as a huge blow! The last 3 years have been dark – but I knew I had to re build my life! In the summer of 2020 – we sold our house and we brought a cottage by the sea side – this was a new start. 

I have 2 BEAUTIFUL children – and I wanted to be the best Mum I could be to them. I TRULY BELIEVE starting CYM saved my life! I was in such a dark place but I wanted to create something from the ground up. 

Something positive!

I wanted to show people that no matter what – you can turn it around! I lost 2 1/2 stone in weight but more importantly I shed my old skin – the one that was full of anxiety and sadness – this was the heaviest load that I lost! It’s not just about the physical results. I let go of all the things holding me back and I used fitness as a way of coping and I am SO PASSIONATE TO SHOW OTHERS IT CAN BE DONE!

Consistency is key.

You have to show up. You have to have faith. I want to be that person people come to with their anxiety – low confidence – depression. I want to tell them It’s ok – I’ve been there – there’s a light and I’m going to show you it.

Check Your Mood Fitness is a community of people coming together with no judgment using fitness and group workouts to battle their way through it all. I have over 14 years experience in the fitness industry. I am a fully qualified PT. I have all the professional knowledge – but what this organisation brings is heart and that is what will give you the real results in both body and mind.
